wins AIP Science Writing Award
Bill Hammack recognized for his public radio
pieces explaining engineering to the public

Institue of Physics
awarded its 2004 Science Writing
Prize in Broadcast Media to Bill
Hammack. The award consists of a
$3,000 cash prize, an inscribed Windsor
Chair, and a certificate. The prize will be
presented at the 2005 March meeting of
the American Physical Society in Los An-
geles.
Previous winners include David
Kestenbaum from National Public Ra-
dio, Jon Palfreman of NOVA/Frontline,
and several reporters from the Canadian
Broadcasting Corporation.
